Gold lettering with black overlay.
In case it's difficult to see, the overlay reads "Families are forever"
Also, a very nice family in our ward gave us their old, antique dining room table. They're a family of eight, so this table includes two leaves (not pictured) to make it even longer. Will and I (mostly Will) sanded the table down (it had been through six kids), re-stained it and then put on a sealant/gloss. It took us a couple of days, but we are so proud of our "new-to-us" table! Plus, now we have a killer game night table! Bring on four couples and one crazy game of "Settlers of Catan" please! Now if only we could find some chairs that match...

I love the project. They sell those 'Families are forever' things in provo, and they are so expensive. How did you get the lettering on there? It looks so good!
i love those plaques! it looks so good! you need to start an ebay business or something like that. could you make me a reversible one that says on one side, "dinner is served, eat it or leave it" and the other side says, "kitchen is closed, fend for yourself(and don't make a mess)"
i wish we could come for a game night. i am aching for a game of trivial pursuit.
Very impressive! I especially am impressed with your work on the table. I even have a feeling I know who gave it to you!
Congratulations on your crafty self!
Both of your projects look great! You two are always getting steals on furniture! I love the lettering project...it's looks familiar...hmmmm.:)
Wish you could show me how to redo our dining room table...the top of ours looks pretty sad.
Miss y'all!
way to go with fulfilling all your craft projects. i am mightily impressed. i love the color you chose and the fonts (what are they, by the way?).
its really very sad that we don't all live closer to have a game night every once in a while. i with heidi -- i would love a game of trivial pursuit with some worthy opponents. hahaha. talk to you later.
