After a whole year of enjoying the jam made from last year's strawberry picking escapade, we decided to make it a yearly tradition. Homemade strawberry jam is seriously yummy and Will now turns his nose up in disgust at even the thought of store bought jam. So we got the group together (Paula, Lydia, Grandma, Wendy and Tyler) and headed for the strawberry patch. The weather was beautiful and sunny and we all picked to our hearts' content. Well, except for maybe Everett and Tyler, who decided it would be more fun to hug, play, push each other, run in the woods, etc. Basically everything EXCEPT pick strawberries. Oh well, such is the life of and 2 and 1/2 and almost 3 year old.
Afterwards we munched on some goodies, which Tyler and Everett simply LOVED. Check out Tyler's cool shades:

I LOVE home-made strawberr jam. Any flavor at that.
That picture of Everett hugging Tyler (?) is SOO adorable. Cute kids.
Reading your post and Paula's today reminds me that I need to go and buy my flat of strawberries to make my jam for the year. I will ONLY eat freezer jam - I don't like any other kind. Plus it's really not too hard to make! My kind of thing.
Actually going to PICK the strawberries sounds even more fun though! And everytime I see the girls - I think of how much fun they will have growing up.
Sorry, I should have specified: Wendy is a good friend and her youngest, Tyler (aka - the Tank) is about six months older than Everett.
yum! i'm totally jealous -- and grace would be too. she LOVES strawberries (with whipped cream on top).
i've always wanted to go picking strawberries, it looks like so much fun! one day...
I have a such a craving for strawberry jam right now! I have lots of freezer space, if you need to store some jam! I've never taken my kids to pick strawberries. I really want to go. It looks like so much fun. And, I really want some of that jam!
That looks like so much fun. I am pretty new to the blog scene, and I was hoping you could tell me how to customize the background of my blog. I want to learn how to put a scrapbooking paper as a background where your green daisies are. If you have the time, my email is thezuberfam@yahoo.com Thanks.
i want to make strawberry jam..... i need to get to the strawberry farm first. can i get your recipe??
You Rock Girl!!!!! Homemade is the ONLY way to go for sure. John is just eating up all of my jam like crazy. We just love it and can't get enough (its really good on vanilla ice cream too!!!) I'm so proud of you for doing it again and picking your own berrie. We loved, loved, that place, and miss it soo badly. My strawberries aren't looking that great this year but we still have a ways to go until they looks as wonderful as those you found! Wow! I can't believe your weather!
