Normally when friends take big blogging breaks I get suspicious that they're pregnant and feeling sick and therefore don't feel like blogging. Allow me to squelch any of these inclinations right here and now. I'm not pregnant; I've just been lazy!
As for a recap of what we've been up to for the past six weeks, I have to admit, it's not too exciting. One of the blogs I stalk regularly does bullet points and that seems fitting for today. So here we go...
- Everett's started sleeping in underwear at night and is doing surprisingly well. The boy can hold it!
- It snowed. In March. In Georgia. It was beautiful, as all snow is, as it was falling. And then it was dirty and slushy for the next few days and I was reminded yet again why I love living in the South. Snow is pretty to look at and maybe even vacation to, but why in the world would I ever LIVE in it? Give me warm weather eight months out of the year any day, please.
- Juliana has become a talking fool. She reguarly says hi, bye bye, Dad, please, thank you, no, uh huh, what's that, horse, dog, cheese, mine and cool. Personally, I think cool is the funniest. Especially when I think of her saying it dressed as she is here:
- Will flew to Philadelphia at the beginning of March for some training at home office for Penn Mutual. It was only for certain producers, so I was thrilled for Will that he was selected to attend. He had a great time meeting all the big wigs and learned tons. He came back on fire and ready to close some big business.
- Paula and I went and saw "He's Just Not That Into You" and "Confessions of a Shopaholic", both of which did their job and were entertaining. I actually liked Shopaholic better than the book, although in both instances I felt like having a heart attack reading about/watching her rack up that much debt. Ugh!
- Per Shanna's suggestion I read "Three Weeks With my Brother" by Nicholas Sparks. I am by no means a Sparks fan and incidentally think all the movies based on his books (yes, even The Notebook) are kind of dumb, but this book was fabulous! It's non-fiction and basically tells his life story. It was a fascinating read and I highly recommend it.
- Speaking of reading, I also read "Outliers" by Malcolm Galdwell. Another non-fiction, but so, so, so INTERESTING. Seriously. There's so much good stuff in it that is worth discussing, so run to your local library and get a copy so we can chat.
- I accomplished one of my 2009 goals and printed up all of my 2006 blog posts into a Blurb book. It was fairly easy and I'm pleased with the results, although I already have plans for how to do it a tad differently whenever I get around to publishing 2007's and 2008's posts.
- I'm annoyed by the new Facebook. I hate that I can't see everyone's statuses at the click of a button. And no offense to anyone, but I could care less about everyone's quiz results.
- Everett's new favorite movies are "Wall-E" and "Meet the Robinsons". "Meet the Robinsons" is pretty cute, but "Wall-E" gets on my last nerve! It is so incredibly liberal to me that it's like nails on a chalkboard whenever I have to sit there and watch it.
- I've started a new exercise routine. I've only been at it for just over a week, but I think I like it. I'll give more details in a few weeks after I see how I'm doing with it and if it's working for me. But, so far, so good!
- Am I weird? I honestly love to read people's blogs. Some of the blogs belong to close friends, friends, friends of friends and then some belong to people I've never met before in my entire life. Out of curiousity, how many blogs are on your Google Reader or Bloglines? I just saw how many I have and I'm almost embarrassed. Please leave me a comment and in my next post I'll divulge how many I read.
- Another reason it's taken me so long to post is because we just got Photoshop and I've been itching to have a customized banner. It's been a royal pain to try to figure out how to do it with a three column blog, but I've finally figured it out - a little. It's amazing the information you can find with Google. But, I'm in desperate need of some tips. Do you see how my picture is a little squished? How do I fix that?
- And of course, we've had our fair share of sunny days at the playground, birthday parties, playing in the sandbox, coloring on the driveway and riding Big Wheels. All in a day's work around here.
Gosh, it feels good to be back!

Wow - 77. I think I need to delete some. Plus, looking at some of those I realized that there are lots that have pretty well quit blogging. You were almost on that list ;)
Glad that things are going good for you, Will and your little little ones. Love that pink sweater (such good taste...Olivia has the same one) too.
I know what you mean about enjoying reading people's blogs--even though I don't even know you that well and knew Paula better, I still enjoy catching up on what y'all are doing. I am seriously addicted to the Internet, though, so I have reduced my google reader to 24 feeds. It was great seeing you at the park a few weeks ago!
I have lots of blogs on my google reader but that doesn't include all of my friends (including myself) that have gone private. That's a whole different list. I'm addicted. I just wish there was a way to get the private blogs on reader!
i guess i'm the most stalker-ific so far? 88 feeds on my bloglines -- and like lachelle says that doesn't cover the private blogs that don't get picked up.
so many things to comment on! first of all, i love the bullet point format. wall-E? forget about liberal, let's just go straight to BO-RING!!! i could hardly get through the whole thing, and even in the end i couldn't figure out what the heck the point was.
i literally just finished reading three weeks with my brother, MINUTES ago, and i really, really liked it.
let's see, oh yeah -- i am also annoyed with the new facebook layout. i'd like to know who out there is a fan?
and finally, i need to re-check out blurb and see if i can get it to work on my computer without slowing it down to a paralyzed snail's pace.
(and after all this commenting, i think i'm going to give you a call to discuss more, anyway!)
i'm glad you're back!
Facebook has been annoying me too!
60 regulars. But who knows where those regulars take me... wowzas! I feel like a stalker!
Glad you are back at last!!
My sister and I are going to be starting a "Funny Fat Friday" post on our blog http://www.justformeandyou2.blogspot.com/
all about pregnancy. I would love if you would check it out or even participate! Just link an old or new post about pregnancy to our blog! Hope to see you there!
so glad you are back. don't do that again.
i can't wait to see how your blurb book turns out. i totally want to do one too. was is pricey??? time intensive?
there is something about wall-e that i love: the people falling out of their chairs onto the ground. i find that absolutely hilarious. and pizza growing on pizza trees. other than that, it s liberal rag.
what else???
and facebook. i don't do quizzes for a reason. facebook is for judging and comparing and spying. not quizzing.
officially 97. i was at 111. that's embarassing. my goal is 50. someday...i keep deleting.
ps-glad you are back.
you are awesome! i will have to read the sparks book and i want to see your printed blog!!!
My bloglines has over 650 blogs that I read. Maybe I am crazy, but I love blogs!
I finally found a way to just read status reports on facebook. Click on "friends". When your list comes up, there is a place along the top to sort friends with updated status reports. It's not the old facebook, but it's better than the other nonsense that I have to dig through to find status reports on the home page.
How much did your blub book cost? Did you have to change your posts into a pdf or anything?
I love your family picture! Who took it?
um, 163...but I have to say that some of them I literally glance at because they are good deals, or good ideas, but I don't actually read them. I always have around 100 unreads in my google reader. it's so hard to catch up. I'll be deleting some..maybe that will be a good thing to do on a friday night.
Hey Natalie,
To answer your question about your photo. I don't know if this will help but it looks like you said you wanted this whole picture in a space that wasn't the same size. I don't know how you did it, but if you can find a way to adjust the amount of space you fill from top to bottom. In other words crop some of the picture or allow it to fill more space from top to bottom/make it bigger top to bottom. Sorry I hope that make sense. I'm better with hands on fixing.
From your old roommate
Welcome back! I have 75 regular blogs that I read, not including the private ones. But some I do not comment on ever. And some are design blogs. I go through and filter it once in a while. Some I "courtesy" read bcse I am in their ward.
I loved your bullets. Welcome back :)
And I LOVE Google Reader. But one problem is that it's easy to keep adding blog subscriptions and now I have WAY too many. I always feel behind. But they are categorized, so I go to my friends category first, read all of those posts, and if I have time, go to my other categories (Blog Design to Copy, Blog Stalk Families - yes, people I don't know but I love their blogs, Cooking, Creative, Design, Digital Scrapbooking, Financial, Giveaways, Health & Exercise, Kids, Organizing, PhotographyWitty Words, and Etc.)
OKAY. I just counted what was currently on my google reader. 219 blogs. That doesn't include all of the actual friends blogs that I read, since I had already gone through those, but I would add about 30 more to that list. Yikes. I really hope your # is up there with mine...
And now with a newborn and a toddler, it's MUCh harder to even read a handful of those. That's okay though!
Glad you are back, I missed seeing your posts! You have two of the most beautiful babies that I have ever seen...
