Yummy Yummy in Everett's Tummy

Will has been super anxious to feed Everett rice cereal since day one. I, on the other hand, have been a bit more hesitant. But last week, I folded and let Will get down to business. And Will was not disappointed as Everett did a great job! I'm sure he was probably just thinking, "Alright! Food!" As a side note, Everett had his 4 month check-up last week (16 pounds and 26.5 inches - our little man!) and the doctor gave the go-ahead to start rice cereal, so I feel a tad better knowing we now have doctor approval. So, here's our not-so-little muchkin trying his first bite of something other than formula.

An Evolution of Mobile Watching

Everett's been quite a fan of his Baby Einstein mobile for awhile now. And as of late, he's taken to watching the mobile from a rather, how should I say, unique angle:



Why our little boy has determined that this is the optimal angle for which to enjoyably view his mobile, we haven't the slightest idea. So in honor of Everett taking the world into his own hands, bucking tradition, thinking outside the box, expanding his horizons and all that other good stuff that we think suggest a creative mind and a genius in the making, we decided to take a look back on how our little boy got to this point at only four months of age.

Ahh, the beginning. Conforming to the traditions of his forefathers...

March Madness

For Christmas, Everett's Pooh-bah and Nana (Will's dad and stepmom) gave him a Duke outfit. Pooh-bah is a HUGE Duke fan and with Duke well on it's way the the Final Four, Everett just had to give the team a shout out.

And Pooh-bah isn't the only fan in the Giddens family, as you can see below.

This may come as a surprise to some, but both Dad and I wouldn't mind if Everett became the next J.J. Redick. Have y'all seen that guy's shot?

Anyway, Duke's next game will be in the Sweet 16 on Thursday at 7:10 EST against the LSU Fighting Tigers. Everett says, "Go Blue Devils!"

Uncle Ty and the ATL

When Uncle Ty was here last weekend for the nuptials of Aunt Paula and Uncle Logan, he spent a few minutes of quality time with Everett trying to impart his wisdom of exactly how to sport a baseball hat - the cool way. And try though he did, Everett just had to come to grips with the fact that perhaps he's just not ready to support the hometown the way Uncle Ty can.

Everett Loves Grandma Lynn

Grandma Lynn came to visit a couple of Saturdays ago and these pictures were so cute, I just had to share them. Note the lipstick on Everett's cheek and the big open-mouth grin on his face. Thanks for the visit and for making Everett smile Grandma Lynn!

A Few More Wedding Pics

As I went through the pictures I realized I didn't have as many as I thought I had taken. And then I remembered that our batteries died on us during the middle of the day. Oh well. Here's what I had left:

Like I said earlier, the weather was great. But it may have been a tad too bright for some people as evidenced above.

So the newlyweds said they didn't want their car decorated, but then Logan foolishly handed over the keys after I "claimed" I needed to get something out of the car. Mu-ah-hah-hah. Fools! Props go to Will, Nathan and Amy for a job well done.

And they're off. The new Logan and Paula Roberts drive off into the night.

Everett's New Uncle Logan

Everett's Aunt Paula got married on Saturday, so there's now an addition to the family. Welcome Uncle Logan!!!

The weather was gorgeous, as was the bride and everything went off without a hitch! Everett was a trooper and managed to stay awake for practically the entire day, much to my chagrin. Needless to say, his nap schedule got completely messed up. But Aunt Paula only gets married once, so lack of sleep was a sacrifice Everett was willing to make. Enjoy the photos!

Favorite Things

One of Everett's favorite things to play with is his Ocean Wonders Aquarium thingy. He loves to grab at the fishes and gaze at the cute baby he sees in the mirror. My mission was to take pictures of him playing without him catching me doing so. Here's photographic proof of my success:
