The Meeting of the Tanks

First of all, we apologize for the lack of posts over the last week. We've had some computer issues, but now they're solved and we vow to come back to cyberspace with avengence.

Everett and I went to a birthday party this past week and we were thrilled when our friends, the Sorensons, showed up. They have three cute kids and their youngest, Tyler (a.k.a. The Tank) is almost a year old. Tyler and Everett are already building their friendship based on their common interests, which at this point is simply their love of food. Tyler is a TANK and Everett is following close behind. So while the older kids ran around and played at the park, these two little ones were content to sit in the double stroller, drool on each other and touch each other's face and arms. Ahh, simple pleasures... :-)

Tank #1 meet Tank #2

It really was love at first sight.

Hello Mr. Blue Eyes!

Ahh, the quintessential Everett picture: Mouth open

But alas, all good things must come to an end.
Slowly, but surely, they started to lose interest in each other...

Distracted by those tasty middle fingers and the fact that Everett finally figured out Tyler had no food to share.
Will and I are looking forward to many more meeting of the Tanks. We just hope to always have enough food on hand to satisfy their hunger!

Everett Can Play the Piano

A child prodigy in the making for sure! Click on the video to see for yourself:

Sah-Wing

Although Everett and I swung (swang? I guess I should really look that up...) together last week, Everett got to be a big boy and swing all by himself the other day. His facial expressions ranged from pure terror, to uncertainty, to finally happiness. And I'm pleased to say that there was no crying at all!

Look how little he looks in that contraption

Mouth open - a sure sign he's having a good time
Grinning at his dad - another sure sign he's happy

sigh - So sweet!

A very successful first swing...

And the inevitable exhaustion that followed...

All together now: "Awwww!"

Visitors!

Everett was lucky to receive not one or two, but THREE visitors a couple of weekends ago. Pooh-bah, Nana and Miss Marissa came to see Mr. Everett. Everett was especially taken with his cousin, Marissa. Not only is she a darling girl, but she was definitely the noisiest of the three visitors! Everett had fun pulling their hair and on their noses, so all in all it was a great visit!

That miniture tiger was a HIT with the little guy.

The oldest and the youngest cousin with their Pooh-bah.

Marissa may be laughing, but make no mistake about it, Everett's not about to let go.

Everett and Nana
Everett says, "Ahhhh, gahhhhh, ooooooo", which translated means, "Thanks for coming to see me Pooh-bah, Nana and Marissa. I had a good time!"

Mr. "E" Funk

Everett and I went to the park today for our weekly playgroup. And since Everett's not quite up to playing age just yet, he and I swang (swung?) on the swing. We were content in our swinging when Shayleen pointed out that Everett's hat had taken a turn.

Who knew Everett was so up to date on the current trends??? He certainly doesn't get it from us. Maybe Uncle Ty?

Quite the Conundrum

Every now and then I have the toughest time trying to decide who's cuter - Everett or Will. Case in point: Will helps us get out the door on time on Sundays by getting Everett dressed and ready to go. I had Everett's outfit laid out and ready to go, Will simply needed to get it on him. Everett looked right snazzy in his new outfit (thanks Grandma Julia!) and I suppose I was simply overcome by his cuteness that I didn't realize that Will had made a pretty cute mistake. See if you can follow the pictures, as they go blow by blow:

Everett in the full, complete outfit

Let the undressing begin...

Now pay close attention.

One button unbuttoned...

Two...

Three...

Four (And if you look closely, you can see Will's "mistake")

Yes, folks, Will is so cute, he managed to put Everett's shirt on backwards.

Aye caramba!
And there you have it. So who do you think's cuter? The baby in the darling outfit or the daddy who managed to put his shirt on backwards? The choice is yours...
